Suave and Sophisticated

The cats are happy to get their couch back. It's asier to hang out on the back when they can lean against the cushions.

Eddie and the Jade Plant

Earth Day Eve. Eddie is finally enjoying the good weather. The window is open behind him, and he regularly checks out the street activity.

Blue Scarf

I bought this blueberry slubby yarn in Baddeck at the Baadeck Yarn Shoppe (not a misspelling) last October. It's all hand spun and hand dyed in Nova Scotia, and I loved it immediately. I haven't really had time to do anything with the yarn, but I always knew I wanted a scarf for myself. Lucky for me it's a cold April.

King of the Mountain- or Kuna

This is unusual behaviour for Eddie, but he is gradually becoming comfortable with activities that Isaiah has long taken for granted: requesting pets, requesting food, sitting and standing on us, talking loudly, etc. He is also developing a nudging technique that reminds me of Barky. After this photo was taken, Eddie snuggled his head into my hair and snoozed.

Tony and Isaiah Asleep

We spent two nights at Tony's parents place this week, looking after Bailey, their dog. Isaiah was happy to get Tony's attention whenever he came back to visit.

The New Couch

Here's our new couch. It really belongs to the cats. Note that Tony has shaved!

Recent Cat Activity

Yes, this last one is of Eddie. Change the bed day is his favourite day.

Reversing Falls Train Bridge

Anyone missing home? This is what the bridge looked like last Sunday. Tony and I were walking back from Sampan's on the West Side which has been turned into a dimsum restuarant on the weekends. It was good, but expensive. I was supposed to be taking photos on the theme of winter for class. This one wasn't good enough to submit, but I rather like it. It feels like SJ.

The Cat

In the last picture he is holding one of his Christmas gifts from Bjorn, a container of catnip.

Lobster Man: Bjorn

Of the pictures shot with Bjorn and his prized Christmas present this one turned out best, thankfully.

On the Laundry

I came home to find the laundry folded on the bed, and Eddie asleep on it. When he saw me, he thoughtfully turned over to give me easy access to his belly.

Fashionista Accessory

Tony turned his ankle last week in a soccer game. As a result, he does things like this: tape an ice bag to his ankle. He also has heating pads that are designed to wrap around his ankle, but nothing more practical for ice. I sense a market opportunity.

Sleepy

Actually, only Eddie was asleep. Isaiah and I were resting our eyes.

Christmas Kitties

This moose (technically a reindeer, but he looks more like a moose) was my office gift swap prize. He plays three different songs and his eyes jiggle. Eddie likes to rub his face on it but is confused when the music plays.

Tony's parents gave us this little tree for Christmas. It has elicited little interested from the cats.

Ficcus Yucca Christmas Tree

The Christmas Ficcus Yucca delivered again. He's undergone some pruning since the last time he's been asked to play this role, but his stool gave him all the leverage required.
Note the trousers in the front. Normally, there are cats sleeping on them. This was a good year for the plastic men population in our house. Right under the ficcus yucca is Starscream the Transformer, compliments of Matt, Tony's cousin. His box is mostly printed in an Asian language. Also, on the right hand corner is Superman, from Bjorn. He came wrapped in wood look-a-like shelf paper.

Found: Chan's Old Stingray Pics

Found in my inbox (which is about to crash). Chan sent these to us on Sept. 30/03 from Grand Cayman.
From left to right is Monty, Kela, William, Dr. Sands (his boat), John crouching in front, Meredith crouching in front, Cieran in back of her, Moira, me, Jason , and Kara.

We spent the day on the boat going fron Barrier Reef, Stingray Bay, and then Rum Point.

Squinting, Bearded Tony

What do you think? It's not the most flattering shot, but you get the idea.

Bjorn in all his Glory

Here's one of brother Bjorn with his White Castle box; its the dirty thirty. He's been holding his tummy and drinking Coke since we got home. Thankfully we ate out and aren't tempted by this White Castle goodness.

Below is his delightful retainer which he stores during the waking hours on our coffee table. Very appetizing, no?

Josh and Eddie

Josh stopped by again on Thursday. Eddie was after him for pets, and Josh was able to comply for a while until he got bitten (in a friendly way, of course).

Josh Plays with Isaiah

Josh came over tonight to have dinner at the Lemongrass to celebrate his 23rd birthday. Afterwards he came back to open Mother's gifts and collect his birthday cupcake.

Christmas Trees from Hartland, NB

I broke out my Christmas CDs this week, including... Jim Henson and the Muppets! I started seeing truckloads of Christmas trees last week heading down the highway. Just to the right of the view is a big truck and a bunch of trussed trees ready for shipment. It was kind of sad. In Boiestown, I saw wreaths in production. Some of these are probably headed for New England and Ontario.

There are two weeks left for Christmas prep among international borders. You'd better post, or group email something soon, or gawd knows what surprises you'll end up with in what locations!

Here's my list:

Saying Goodbye

Bjorn and Isaiah had some alone time on Thursday night.
