Our Curtains

These curtains were handmade by the previous occupant, with fabric she happened to have. They are cast on dowels, and have wooden brackets added to the inside of the window frame so that light can be let in, and a bubble or swag effect is created.

She took the parlour curtains with her (they were lace, and not like these at all), but left these behind in the dining room and baby's room. We really like them, and would like the same style for our parlour. These photos are posted so that Mother can look at them in more detail, to see if she can make them.

The Naked Parlour Windows

A shaky view of the parlour windows that require curtains. The second photo shows the brackets that hold the dowels, and allow for the curtains to be raised, and swagged.

This is our recent Watson photo. He's sleeping in my drawer. The cloths became completely covered in cat hair.

This is a posting of our lovely blinds. They're stained bamboo, very cheap and I find them warm and inviting.

Ta Da!

You'll have to go to MLS #084645 to see the pictures, because we don't have any of our own pictures yet. But, the finances are set, the insurance is (mostly) set, the building inspection is done, and most significant: the deposit has been paid. Oy. Closing day is Dec. 5, and moving day is Dec. 7!

This is when Shayo and I visited Chantal, having her make us birthday dinner and cake for Shayos' 28th. This was back on 9-13-08, two days after her birthday of the 11th.
